‘Rough to Ride’ – Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th September 2014.
We have about 20 adults and children going and have managed to secure bigger accommodation so have about 10 spaces going to offer to Penge CC members.
At the accommodation children and adults can stay over night, and you would have to have the adults to cover your riders. Adults must be DBS cleared to stay overnight, if not they will need to find accommodation elsewhere.
Please contact Adam (see email below) if interested before 20th July.
“Here is the next exciting new adventure for the club, open for all Bigfoot Go-Ride club riders aged 11 and above (girls and boys). A two day off road ride, with overnight accommodation in a hostel building at the Bentley Copse Scout Camp, plus use of their skittle alley that night.
And our destination is Brighton! We love Brighton! The ride follows the official British Heart Foundation London to Brighton off-road ride route from Richmond Park to Brighton (that they do in 1 day), a few short sections are on road – but most is off road. The total distance we ride is about 78 miles, split roughly in two between the two days.
All children will need to be accompanied by a parent or friend of the family – contact Adam if this is a problem.
Spaces are limited at the Hostel to 14 people (children and adults), so we will operate on a first come first served basis – the cost will be £20.00 per person (adults and children), inclusive of accommodation costs and skittle alley hire. To book your place and to find out more just contact Adam at adam@bigfootcc.co.uk, then please keep the weekend clear.
Once we have a list of those interested we will arrange an evening meeting for mums and dads to discuss what the ride is like and whether we feel it is suited to your child – we will then finalise arrangements and collect fees before the school summer holidays.
We also need someone + car to volunteer to act as support vehicle to carry items to the hostel (pillows, sleeping bags, change of clothes, trainers, food and drink, toothbrushes etc).”
