Info from Jason Cattermole:
Winter is coming and that means only one thing – the CCT road bike training sessions return to Herne Hill Velodrome, two weeks today! Running every Thursday night, starting 8th October, until 31st March (not running Christmas eve or New Year’s eve). Sign on is open from 7pm, be ready to ride at 7.20pm, session finishes at 9pm. Cost is £3.
These sessions are open to riders of a racing level from South East region, born between 1998 and 2003 (2016 U14, U16 and Junior categories).
Riders: Those of you who have been before will know these are a great benefit, and a vital part of your winter training. They are physically challenging sessions, working on fitness, race techniques and skills. We will split into multiple groups to cater for different ages and abilities.
For those of you who haven’t been before, or even heard of these sessions, you will have received this email because you have been racing at Crystal Palace Crits this year, or have been recommended to these sessions by your club coach. More info click here.
The sessions will build slightly in speed and complexity as the season progresses. We will also cover different techniques, and develop on previously covered techniques. So, please do come regularly to these sessions. We understand people will miss sessions here and there and also fully support that track-focussed riders will want to be at the Youth and Junior Track League at Lee Valley every other week, which unfortunately clashes.
Please bring a completed copy of the attached consent form – click here.
Also to mention for those if you that live further out, or can’t make Thursday nights, there is an equivalent session at Cyclopark on Tuesday nights. More info on the link above. I won’t be offended if you go there instead!
Coaches: Myself and Iain support these sessions as much as possible but they will be dependent on involvement from club coaches. If you can get involved with the coaching please let us know. We’ve started a coaching rota, please let us know if you can take some shifts. If you’d just like to pop along once or twice to see what the sessions are all about then that’s great too! Please let me know if there are any other riders that you’d like to bring.
Hope to see many of you on Thursday 8th!
